Which World Do You Chose?

There is an old song that bears a lot of truth; it says, “This world is not my home; I’m just a passing through.” Every one of us will not spend forever here- not even in the ground; for there is another place- in fact, only two others.

Now, some people in this world like it as it is and would just as soon everything would always stay the same, but it doesn’t. We live in a world that is constantly evolving; things are changing and always will.

It says in Romans 12:12, “Do not be conformed to this world.”  In other words, don’t live your life as this world tries to show you how. I John 12:12 says, “Do not love the world or the things in the world,” because if you love this world you can’t love God; it’s just that simple.

I didn’t make this rule, God did, and for a good reason. He either wants all of our devotion to Him or none at all.

Looking around, it’s obvious that many people have chosen the world’s ways over God’s. When people do try to be a true follower of God, they are considered weird, and the Bible tells us about that in John 3:1. It says that the world does not know us because it doesn’t know God.

That’s why a real committed Christian feels and looks out of place at times. This world has a lot of lures, and people fall for them. More is never enough.

We fulfill the desires of our flesh with what pleases us, hate others for various reasons, see movies regardless of how offensive they are and watch television that leaves hardly anything to the imagination. I John 2:17 also says that their world is passing away, and it’s all coming to an end, one way or the other. If you choose the things of this world, you’ll pay the price for eternity with it- but to choose God’s option of redemption through Jesus, there is such a better world to come.
