Worthless Fireworks
Most of you enjoy the sights and sounds of the Fourth of July season. It’s fun, and almost everyone loves to see the night sky lit up with burst expressions of lights and colors.
If you take the ingredients of fireworks to a higher level, you can make bullets and bombs of all kinds. It mainly depends on the size of the charge of explosive power that you accumulate.
I want you to think of how that can reflect in our lives, especially if you consider yourself a Christian. Christian people have available the greatest power of all, God’s Word, His truth, His wisdom, His authority through Christ. There are unlimited resources all the time with this vast arsenal of God’s mighty provisions. He is ready to equip His people who say they are His.
Few too many set off small charges of power when there is so much more there for them to use. Instead of contending for the gospel with God’s firepower, they throw their little gospel firecrackers at Satan and evil, never stopping it- just causing the enemy to dance around a little here and there, but never really winning in any real way.
Now, there are some who will fight, and you’ll know them by their wounds and losses, because they’re willing to be a real servant for the Lord.
How about you? What kind of ammo do you fight with against sin?
