We all agree...or do we?

There are many different churches, and among them many denominations, independent churches and outreach organizations. But there is only ONE GOD!

Why, then, do we have so many groups claiming to worship the same God? It mainly has to do with people’s interpretation of what God’s Word says: some believe one part but question another.

The bottom line is: God’s Word is what it is. We are supposed to accept it, not try to work it around for a better fit. There is not one sect of Christianity that has it perfected, although some like to think they know it all.

The two basic principles all Christianity believes is: No. 1, that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that only through Him can we come to repentance of our sins; and No. 2, that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God given to man by God to teach us.

After that, their beliefs can be vastly different.

I think many a churchgoer would be surprised to find that some Christian groups and leaders do not believe that the Bible is to be taken literally. They believe some of the words and meanings are no longer true for today. It is just easier to go with the basics of Christianity and not with the realistic meanings.

I, too, have questions, but I find it easier to take God at His Word than to say I will and then do something different.

Truth is truth, something rarely found these days. We have all failed in our walk, and we will again. It’s because we are human beings.

Make the decision to follow Jesus and take the Bible as truth; even if you mess up now and then, it’s better than living the rest of your life deceived.
