Twisting the Bible

God gave words to selected people to be written down years ago. These words have been established as cornerstones for teaching all people the way they should conduct themselves in society.

Every sentence was written down with a purpose and inspired by the Holy Spirit. The words of the Bible help us find direction for our lives but it also shows us how to correct our wrong thinking.

God will not force these words on us. He offers them to all who choose to accept them as truth and live their lives accordingly. Those who choose to read and learn from God’s Holy Scriptures not only please the Creator, they learn how to accept the trials of life.

We still have the trials and the challenges of our day-to-day life. We just handle them in a more productive way. Some folks live lifestyles that are contrary to the Biblical teaching and don’t seem to have many mishaps. They then twist His words and try to make God be what they want Him to be.

Unfortunately, those who continue to go their own way do not really find God. The words God gave to us years ago are unbending and steadfast. When God made a statement, He meant what He said. We can either choose to live with His truth or not.

Of course, we all make mistakes. We are human and God is always ready to forgive us and help us get back on the right path. Thankfully, our past sins are forgotten and God covers them with His grace, yet the Bible also says that if we continue our wayward life we will pay the price.

And the price is eternal separation from God. None of us want to be eternally separated from God.

Maybe it’s time for an evaluation. Are we fooling ourselves into thinking we are Christian? Are we twisting the Bible’s words to meet our agenda? Be careful! Revelation 22:19 states, “If any one shall take away from the words of this book of this prophecy, God shall take away their part from the book of life.”
