THE TRAMP AND 10¢

Once there was a young man who had a rebellious heart. He did not like to obey the authority of his father’s house, so he decided to leave. Only a young teenage boy, he went to the city of New York where he ended up becoming a panhandler begging on the street. The boy grew into a young man but never got beyond being a bum looking to someone else for his next handout.
The years had weighed heavy on his life, and his appearance was one of a tramp. Not much resembled who he used to be in earlier days. One day as he went up and down the streets of the big city where back alleys and dumpsters had become his home and most frequent dinner table, this tramp walked up behind a man and tapped him on the shoulder and said, “Sir, could you spare a dime?”
When the man turned to answer this tramp, the boy recognized that it was his father. As he looked at him, the boy cried out, “Father, don’t you recognize me?” Suddenly the father threw his arms around his son and said, “Where have you been? I’ve searched for you so long, but now I have found you!”
God knows where you’ve been. No matter what you’ve done, He still wants you back and is willing to accept you back as His own child. He has never quit loving you even though you may have stopped thinking about Him.
Let Jesus, God’s son, heal your life today, and you’ll find true peace forevermore.
