The Right Conclusion
James had become one of America’s greatest businessmen. He worked hard and lived a very frugal life with his money. His business grew and became extremely prosperous. However, hard times brought financial distress, and the company losses began to mount. The stress related to the declining business eventually exacted a toll on his body with a life-threatening illness.
While hospitalized, believing he was dying, despair overwhelmed him, and James began to pen his last will and testament, along with farewell letters to family and friends.
One morning, while walking slowly down the corridor of the hospital, he was surprised to hear singing echoing its melodies down the hallway. Intrigued, he followed the sound and found himself at the doors of the hospital chapel. He quietly listened as the words of the song proclaimed “God Will Take Care of You!” It was a life-changing moment as his life was transformed, and he discovered God was there to help him. The words of the song resounded in his spirit, and from this moment forward his life was changed.
The former life of worry departed, and his health began to return to his body. His mind set was clearly changed, and he knew he no longer needed to write letters of farewell. Without a doubt, God had changed his life, and James discovered Jesus as His Savior and the great love of an almighty God.
Following this life-changing experience, his business began to grow and surpassed any past success he had known. It was reported that with the growth he gave 90 percent of his wealth to the Kingdom of God through ministry and work and he chose to live on 10 percent of his increase. James Cash Penney had discovered the real source of life and success.
Although James has now departed this earth to Heaven’s eternity, his beginnings still bear his name in the J. C. Penney retail stores. This giant retail business continues to bear the name of a man that learned to put all his cares into the hands of a God that carried it all for him.
God will do the same for you. Let Him have all your concerns today and be at peace with your future.
