The Price of a Soul
What do you think one’s soul is worth? What do you think people would charge to sell their entire life out to someone or something else? Well, believe it or not, most people sell out pretty cheaply.
There is an account of one of two brothers who sold his for a pot of stew. That is found in Genesis 23. Today, millions of people go pretty cheap by selling their entire inheritance from God for fame, money, position, drugs, sex, a fancy car, or a big promotion. But what makes it even sadder is that people really don’t care. They’d rather be accepted by people than the God who made them. Countless people every day could care less about their eternal soul. Yet when death comes, and it will, there will be no way to change one’s mind and be spared from the real cost of the selfish decisions that was made about themselves.
People in this day and time are so deceived by false religious and charismatic leaders who make promises that they never can keep. The things of this world are so quickly fading away, and nobody even has a guarantee that they will live through tomorrow, but they will take their chances; gambling with their lives, rolling the dice, in one way or the other, seeing just what they can get away with, taking a chance on a future that is fleeting, and in the end they’ll always come up short.
God has created a better plan for everyone that wants it. He has a plan for those who’ll put their lives into His hands- the hands that, in reality, made them.
Don’t take a chance. Let God have all of you, and He can keep you forever safely under His care.
