The Joints of Your Armor

Anyone that goes into battle prepares for it. There are different methods that different cultures have, but if you are going to win, you must prepare.

Most people, I realize, never take it into consideration that we will daily face spiritual battles, ones that can attack us from all directions and bring chaos into our lives that we don’t need.

In the Bible, you’ll find Ephesians 6:10-13 talking about this very thing. It says, “Finally brethren, Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God that you might be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not with flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this age and against spiritual hosts of wickedness in Heavenly places.”

This surely tells us we are daily in some type of spiritual challenge to what we believe and practice. In another scripture of the Bible in 2 Chronicles 18, we can read the story of the life of King Ahab, who was a wishy-washy King. He would say he followed God and called himself a believer, but his life said otherwise.

He went out to battle with his physical armor on, and when things got tough he escaped; but in verse 33 it says an enemy soldier at random drew his bow and shot an arrow that hit the King between the joints of his armor- purely on chance.

This makes me wonder how many of God’s people go out daily and don’t realize they are even in a battle. The enemy of their souls can shoot at them at random with his fiery darts at anytime. They can wound in so many ways and eventually kill our Spiritual life.

Neglect of God’s Word and not living it out daily has allowed the joints of their spiritual armor to be exposed way too much and become an easy target.

How is your armor fitting today?
