Love has Little Power When Spoken, but Greater When Shown
The eternal power of God’s love in us comes from the presence of His Holy Spirit. That’s what gave Jesus’ disciples power.
When they were touched inside by the power of God, their lives were drastically changed. Our love for God will not only set its course for our life but also will affect our love for other Christians.
God will judge your love for Him by the way you love others. Therefore, we must daily search our hearts about our feelings toward all things so the Spirit of God can do His work in us.
Churches today come in many sizes and with many different names. These bodies of people that make up church groups and denominations have varied in their beliefs.
There is the questions of holiness, security in salvation, prophecy, baptism, the filling of the spirit, healing, communion and on and on. We, as people, have caused way too many differences in these areas.
How often have these areas been allowed to cause arguments and develop bitterness, separation, some unkind deeds and thinking? All of this is for the sake of our own opinions.
The bottom line is that what the Bible says is just what it is. I’ve come short of fulfilling its requirements at times, and so have you.
Because I’ve not lived it out as I should, it has cost me, and the same goes for any of us. We that call ourselves Christians are only ineffective because we’ve failed God’s Word, not because His Word has failed us.
As a body of Christians, it’s all found in the Truth of God’s Word and our love for one another. That’s where our real power lies.
