Are We Thankful?
How many days do we go about our business and never give a thought to the one who allows us to draw our next breath?
We should consider this, for we are all here by God’s grace and never-ending love. I’d like to challenge you to stop what you are doing, right now, and take time to think about what God has done and will do that involves your life.
You may say, “There are a few things it is hard for me to thank God for because they involve heartaches. Well, where do you think God was while you were going through those tough times?
We can always thank Him for faithfulness. Psalms 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble.”
There will always be things to be thankful for; look at God’s creation. Thank Him for grace, His keeping power before you accepted Jesus as your Savior, for hope, for eternal life and the home promised in Heaven. Thank Him for freedom from sin and for being right beside us when we go through the trials of the future.
Thank God for His forgiveness, because we all have failed Him; He just lifts us up and brings us back into the fold. We need to thank Him for placing us in a country where freedom reigns.
This country is not perfect, but heaven awaits those who have Jesus for their Savior.
Thank God by accepting His Son, Jesus Christ, as your Savior. Accept His free gift of life everlasting. Only you can do it; no one can do it for you.
Though we cannot always understand God’s way of accomplishing His will, one thing we can be sure of is you can always trust His direction. A thankful heart is a heart that is trusting God.
