A Most Destructive Word?

There are all kinds of words. Some have great meaning and some have little. Some are powerful and some hurtful.

There is one word that God warns us not to put into action, and He deals with people who have done this over and over again. He sees good people become arrogant, and wealthy people become snobs.

This word packs a powerful punch and has destroyed friendships, caused racism, and made family members despise one another. We have watched people full of hope turn into monsters when this word is taken out of context.

You can see it written on billboards and worn on clothing. It can make people feel good or envious. This word can transform a neighborhood or even a city if acted on correctly.

Yet, if it is abused, rubbed in people’s faces or used to tear down others instead of bringing them together, it can destroy them.

How can a word have so much power? Because we give it power. God tells and shows us examples of what this word is capable of throughout the Bible. He says, “No person full of it will enter into His Kingdom.”

The word is “PRIDE.” Be aware, it can fall on anyone at anytime and has been the downfall of many.
