Unhappy Christians

There really should not be such a person, but regretfully, there are many; and why would there be such a person as an unhappy Christian? Well, actually, it is very simple. It is because when you are a Christian, and you’ve surrendered your life to Christ, that’s just what you’re supposed to do: trade your old life off for a new one that is guided by Christ, through the work of the Holy Spirit of God. Christians struggle when they still try to do things their own way, and it never quite works.
God’s plans for a Christian life, or any life, are not the plans we have for ourselves. You see, Proverbs 16:9 says it best: “The mind of man plans his ways, but the Lord directs his steps.” So when we try to direct our own life and call ourselves Christians, there will be friction.
God knows best, and He will always try to get His people to do the things that He knows they’re really supposed to do. One’s fleshly side- and with the devil’s help- can cause someone a lot of problems when they won’t let God have all of their life. Letting God have it all is the only way to be one of those Christians that seem to be satisfied with life and to become one that knows, with confidence, that they are always going forward toward God’s will regardless of the outcome.
