The Words

The words of Jesus actually cover the whole Bible. Does not the Scripture say in John 6:46, “Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father”? Jesus said in John 14:7, “If you had known me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”

If your heart is not in tune with God’s Word and listening for His voice, you will stumble in life much more than you need to. The Holy Spirit is our connecting point, but unless you draw close to the Holy Spirit, you can’t know what God wants you to know. Jesus said that He alone is the only way, the only truth, the only life; and that nobody can come to God as Father unless they come through Him. Without Jesus, there is no knowing God. That’s why the world has so much trouble with Jesus- because they want one of their alternative ways to come to God, but Jesus says “no.” There is no other way.

People can talk about knowing God all they want, but if they don’t have a born again experience with Jesus, they have no real relationship with God. People don’t really have a big problem with God Himself. They have a problem with His Word, and that Word is in the form of Jesus. People do not want to live their lives by God’s Word. They then want to discredit it. Why? Because they know it is truth, but they don’t want to change. The things of this world have too big a hold on them.

If you, at times, don’t offend someone by the way you live as a Christian, then you’d better check your spiritual batteries. I’m not talking about being obnoxious; I’m simply saying your light has to represent Christ in some ways that cause those who don’t know Him to take notice of God’s Word living in you.

Satan’s behind all the unrest because he can’t kill Jesus. He wants to kill God’s people. He wants the message of Jesus silenced because He knows it is powerful. There are some tough words in the Bible, and those are the ones none of us like to hear at times, because they conflict and cause us to have to make a choice.

I believe, since we have now over 30 English translations of the Bible, that it has watered the Word down from many of its original meanings. I am not allowed, nor are you, to pronounce judgment. Only the evidence- and then by God’s Word all things will be weighed. Truth can only come from God, and for us the knowledge and obedience of His Word and some of the greatest gifts ever given you as a gift from God.

You’ll get lost without Him, but if you’ll turn away from this world and obey His Word, you’ll find an inner peace to get you through.
