So You Say That You’re A Christian
A good number of Americans, when asked, consider themselves a Christian. All know of God, many have heard of Jesus and most see the influences of churches in their towns. So they say, “I’m of the Christian faith,” when asked.
What is the Christian faith? Do these that claim it really know, accept and understand it? If you were to ask these people, most could not explain a true walk with God as a Christian. In Psalm 145:18 it says “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.”
What is truth? Pilot asked Jesus this very question when He stood before him just before His crucifixion. “What is truth?” You just read it in Psalm 145. The Lord is near to all if you really want Him to be, but you must want it enough to change, enough to become a new person, to let go of the past and look only to God for your future. You must let go of this world and reach out to the very one that can help you to get to the next.
Yes, many people think they are a Christian, but remember what that word means: “little Christ.” Are you trying to live as a little Christ to the people of the world or are you living pretty much as the world lives? Can others really tell the difference between you and most of the other people of the world? Jesus will only accept true real Christians that He knows because they really know Him.
