Do You Love God, Or Do You Just Serve Him?

How many do follow the commandments that Christ has set for us to follow? Jesus Himself has stated the way to follow Him is a narrow way and any other way a person chooses to take will only lead to destruction. His words are told to us in the scripture of Matthew 7:14 where it says, “narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

These words are not spoken to give us an idea. If you want to find the way to eternal life, we have to follow the directions that Jesus has given. There is no other route, or method…you accept the way Jesus offers or nothing else. Any other way is a false way. Now there are many religions, but only one Christianity. Religion will put you at odds with God because they all have established within them gods of their own.

There are many who believe they can do goods works outside or inside of the church, yet totally miss the way to Heaven, for they have in some form chosen their own methods, yet Christ will reject them all. God is full of mercy and extends it to everyone, but He did not give His son as a sacrifice for mankind and allow the blood of Jesus to be shed so people could choose their own way to heaven.

Love for God requires full obedience to His word and the examples Jesus set for any of us to follow. We may stumble, but it can be done. Today I am deeply concerned, for there are so many people who do believe they are in right standing with God, that He will just overlook some of the things they’ve done and allow them to enter in someday to the Kingdom of God. There is forgiveness through Christ, but it must be genuine.

It is repentance, not just praying a prayer of repentance. Repentance means more than “I’m sorry”; it means I regret what I’ve done. When you can truly regret your sins before Jesus, you will receive repentance. Eternal life is for everyone. But it is only if you choose to live for Him that is going to have any eternal value.

We must check ourselves against His instructions. To believe without knowing leads only to deception, and believing in what we think we know will get us in places far from God.
