Accounting for Your Investments

Each and every person who has ever lived on this earth has invested their money and time into things- from houses and land to entertainment. The list is endless.

There are areas we must invest in to live. We need shelter, food, clothing and other necessities. But even these areas can be overextended. There is a bottom line (the need or the want) and there is a big difference attached to this.

Yet regardless of what we believe we need or want, it is how we invest that will make it all come out in our accounting. You see, just because we invest in something that is good is not necessarily the best that God had in mind for your investment.

Just how will you explain to the “chief accountant” (that would be God or Jesus) how you spent your time and money as you lived out your life? How will one explain investing money into trashy movies or gambling at casinos? How are you going to account for the very abilities God created in you and then you take them and invest in projects that benefit only you or your pleasures? Or that build your own earthly legacy while all the time the Kingdom of God gets a little portion here and there depending on what extra you have to spare.

It’s not just money but also you and your personal time. Where do you invest that portion of your life as well?

The accounting will be to the exact penny and the truth of the real reason for investing. Examine the books today covering your life- for who knows when the accounting period will end?
