A Dead Conscience
When a person’s mind has become so seared or distracted that they can see only for themselves and have a mind that, for reasons unknown, even goes against common sense, we can find an explanation where the Bible gives us the reason: a mind that turns to reprobate. A reprobate is someone who doesn’t really even know how to take care of themselves rightly. It is the description of a person who can’t even make right decisions even when many times the answer is right in front of them.
The reprobate’s conscience has gotten to the point where they can no longer make a decision except for what they only believe to be right, no matter what evidence is shown to be truth. They cannot recognize it as really truth.
Their thinking has become dulled by so much of the false ways that they’ve allowed to persuade them. These become people who are easily led astray and become corrupted to the very place that they can no longer think for themselves.
There is another dark force that seems to surround their judgment. Their conscience has now gotten to the point that they are being no longer controlled by their understanding, but something that has control of them. Their conscience is dead to good and no longer useful to it.
That is what has been told in God’s word would happen to those who are deceived by Satan. And it is told that in the last days many would fall away.
Look at the decisions being made today by those in authority and in positions of influence. And remember the rest of the story, that if Jesus didn’t remove the Christians, even many of those would be deceived as well. The days are interesting now, aren’t they?
